Transcript:
Hello everyone, it’s Dr. Patty Hughes name sign.
I’m the CEO for GLAD, Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness, OC DEAF, TC-GLAD, CODIE, B-GLAD, LIFESIGNS, and EDD-GLAD.
We recently discussed that our offices would continue to stay open, but now that is not the case.
Last night, the Governor declared an order called “Stay at Home,” and Los Angeles declared a similar order called “Safer at Home”.
The reason for these orders is COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
None of us know how to resolve this virus yet.
The virus is still being researched and the whole world is focused on it.
California’s Governor has been trying to reduce the spread of the virus.
So what should you do? Stay at home where it is safe. Don’t go to work.
If you need to go to the grocery store, doctor, hospital, or pharmacist, they’re still open.
Many restaurants are still open but not for dining in, you must take your food to go.
We suggest you call the restaurant before you go to check if they’re open for take-out or closed.
The reason for these safety precautions is called “Social Distancing.”
The goal is for everyone to stay at least six feet away from each other, it reduces the risk of transmission and is safer.
Stay at home.
Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water.
If you don’t feel well, avoid mingling with people to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Our offices will be closing to protect our staff and you as well.
