The Deaf Studies Department and the NCOD: Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services at California State University Northridge are hosting Black Deaf College Visitation Days. The theme is “Black, Brilliant, & College Bound.” We are inviting 8th-12th grade Black Deaf students and their chaperones to a two-day college experience starting at 4:30 pm on Thursday, February 23, and ending Friday, February 24th at 2:00 pm. Our goals are to expose young people to college, get them excited about their futures, provide resources, and answer questions about college admissions, college life, financial aid, and more. Each student and their chaperone will be paired with a Deaf student mentor who will stay with them throughout the two-day experience. Students will meet other Black Deaf students interested in college, tour campus, including the residential halls, participate in a college class, and have a lot of fun! We are so excited to host you! Every student attending must have at least one chaperone. This free event includes meals, a gift bag for all attendees, and a t-shirt for participating students. Registration is required by February 3rd. A confirmation email with more details will be sent once you register. Please register below: Eventbrite Registration at shorturl.at/boDHU For questions, contact Dr. Lissa Ramirez-Stapleton at lissa.stapleton@csun.edu Zach Lotane at zachary.lotane@csun.edu or Video Phone at 818 435 3825
